On my way to an evening concert up in the Washington DC area, I made it more of a day trip by stopping by a few parks between here and there. Two (Neabsco Creek Boardwalk and Huntley Meadows Park) I’d visited before and really enjoyed, and the third (Scott’s Run Preserve) was a new one for me and turned out to be another very special place indeed. Come along and wander with me, and get some tips on photography in the dreary winter!
The concert I was on my way to see was Jump, Little Children–I’ve been a fan for years, but this was my first time seeing them live, and probably the last as well since this run of shows was billed as a Farewell Tour. It was an incredible show, and in a quite intimate venue (Jammin Java, Vienna VA). Definitely an experience I won’t soon forget. For these I switched to my R5 for wider angles and better low-light performance. All shot with the RF 24-105mm f/4L lens, which I was eager to try out in a concert setting. I think it did pretty well!
